To conclude an inspiring Annual Conference 2026, The Forum on Education Abroad recognized outstanding leadership, advocacy, and innovation during the Closing Celebration Luncheon held in Nashville on Friday, March 13.

The luncheon honored recipients of several distinguished awards, including the Peter A. Wollitzer Advocacy Award, the Ron Koehn Conference Grant Award, the Loren Ringer Award for On‑Site International Educators, and the second annual InnovateEA pitch competition. ​

The Forum on Education Abroad is delighted to share that three major award winners were announced during the Closing Session of our virtual Annual Conference on Thursday, February 12:

• Award for Advancing the UN SDGs through Education Abroad
  • This award recognizes members who integrate economic, environmental, and social sustainability into their education abroad programs. Sponsored by Authentica.
• Award for Excellence in Education Abroad Curriculum Design
  • This award recognizes educators who develop innovative, high‑impact education abroad curricula. As the field’s only award for outstanding course design, it honors individuals or teams whose work enhances student learning and engagement.
• ​Award for Academic Achievement Abroad
  • This award celebrates the depth of scholarly work students accomplish while studying abroad, highlighting the critical thinking, creativity, and cross‑cultural understanding that emerge from rigorous academic experiences.

To round out an inspiring Annual Conference 2025, The Forum on Education Abroad celebrated several awards during the Closing Celebration Luncheon in Toronto on Friday, March 21. The luncheon presentation included announcing the winner of the Peter A. Wollitzer Advocacy Award, recognizing recipients of the Ron Koehn Conference Grant Award and Loren Ringer Award for On-Site International Educators, and, for the first time, the InnovateEA pitch competition. 

The Forum on Education Abroad is thrilled to share that three major award winners were announced at our Closing Awards Presentations during the virtual portion of our Annual Conference on Thursday, February 27: ​
