Annual Conference 2027: A Global Gathering Online & in New York  

The Forum on Education Abroad’s Annual Conference will bring education abroad professionals together online from February 10-11 and in New York City from March 10-12 to engage in a global exchange of ideas, experience, and practice. 

New York City, one of the world’s most globally connected and culturally rich cities, will provide a fitting backdrop for conversations around mobility, belonging, and global learning. At the same time, the virtual conference experience will enable professionals to participate fully, engage meaningfully, and contribute from anywhere, regardless of location or travel constraints. 

At the core of the Annual Conference will be high‑quality programming centered on skills‑based sessions with clear, actionable takeaways that participants will be able to apply immediately. The conference will convene professionals across roles and career stages to address key challenges in education abroad, share practical insights, and explore solutions through open dialogue and collaborative learning. 

​Whether onsite or online, the Annual Conference will offer space to reconnect with the purpose, impact, and possibilities of education abroad—to reflect on our work, strengthen our practice, and move forward together with clarity and resolve. ​

Share Your Conference Proposals Until August 17 

Share your ideas, strategies, research, and experiences with the international education community through a conference session designed to spark conversation and advance the field. Once again, we will accept proposals in English, Spanish, and French for 2027. 

We invite proposals that explore community and belonging; foundations of education abroad for an evolving field; and leadership, careers, and wellbeing in our field. Submit your ideas by Monday, August 17, and help shape the Annual Conference program through meaningful conversations and shared learning across the community.
