WorkshopsEach badge has at least one workshop component, which can be completed in-person or online. Workshops are offered on a regular basis across the U.S. and around the world as stand-alone events and in conjunction with Forum conferences. Workshop registration is included in the badge cost.

AssignmentsAssignments are challenging and have practical applications in your current and future positions. Highly qualified and trained Forum Certification Assessors review completed assignments and provide valuable feedback.

TimeframeForum Badges are designed to be individualized, self-paced, and flexible. Each Forum Credential must be completed within 1 year after admission.

Badge MaintenanceForum Badges expire three years after they are issued. Maintenance is achieved by pursuing a new Forum Badge, or by enrolling in the Professional Certification Program. Note that the Professional Certification Program has its own maintenance program .

Earners have comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the Standards of Good Practice in Education Abroad and Code of Ethics. They are able to use the Standards to assess and improve education abroad operations and practices. They are knowledgeable of best practices, where to find resources to support their work, and can communicate the importance of the Standards to stakeholders. Earners must contribute to the field through various professional activities to maintain their certification.
