Registration for the Forum's 8th Annual Conference, Tracing the Experience: From Inquiry to Integration (Denver, March 21-23, 2012) is now open online.
The Forum will offer the opportunity for casual discussions focused on timely topics in education abroad at the Annual Conference in Denver. If you are interested in leading a lunch discussion, please email info@forumea.org with your contact information and topic by Friday, February 3, 2012.
If your institution is interested in sharing examples for the Standards Toolbox, please submit them to Heather Harris, Assistant Director (harrish@dickinson.edu). Potential examples may include website links, pdfs or word documents.
A few opportunities are still available for sponsorship at the Forum’s 8th Annual Conference, including several items and events. Sponsorships are an excellent way to provide visibility for your organization while supporting the Forum and its mission.

The Forum is pleased to announce a call for volunteers to serve on a newly-formed Data Committee Working Group that will contribute substantially to reworking the Pathways Survey, and develop an online resource of organizational structures in education abroad offices. Forum Selected to Host American Council of Learned Societies Public Fellow
The Forum has been chosen by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) as one of thirteen organizations to host a Public Fellow. The Fellow will serve in a two-year position that is fully funded by ACLS and will be based in the Forum’s offices in Carlisle, PA.
According to President and CEO Brian Whalen, “The Fellow will serve as Associate Director and be involved in developing resources in the areas of education abroad pedagogy and curriculum, and assist with the planning of related workshops and Standards of Good Practice Institutes.” Whalen added that “this will directly benefit Forum member institutions, which will benefit from the resources and programs that are generated by the Fellow’s work.”
The ACLS Public Fellows program will place 13 recent Ph.Ds. from the humanities and humanistic social sciences in two-year staff positions at partnering organizations in government and the nonprofit sector. The following organizations and institutions have been selected to host a Fellow:
