The Results Are In: Alumni Turn Out in Record Numbers to Share the Career Impact of Education Abroad8/21/2025
The Forum on Education Abroad is thrilled to announce that the Education Abroad: The Career Catalyst Alumni Survey has officially closed with a total of 7,984 responses, far surpassing our original goal of 5,000 and setting a new benchmark for the field. “This milestone reflects the power of our community when we unite around a shared purpose,” said Melissa Torres, President & CEO of The Forum on Education Abroad. “With nearly 8,000 alumni voices, we now have unprecedented data to help us advocate for the lifelong value of education abroad; not just for individual students, but for society and the workforce at large.” This is now the largest career-focused alumni survey ever conducted in education abroad, thanks to the incredible support and outreach from our community. Over the past several months, institutions, organizations, and alumni came together to elevate a powerful message: education abroad experiences impact careers and increase economic opportunity. The alumni survey is part of Education Abroad: The Career Catalyst campaign, a field-wide campaign to showcase the career-defining impact of education abroad—how it equips students with real-world skills, professional agility, and a broader perspective that sets them apart in the workforce. What’s Next As we move into the next phase of the campaign, survey findings will be analyzed and prepared for release in the months ahead. These insights will fuel new messaging and tools for institutions, organizations, and policymakers to better understand and champion the long-term value of global learning experiences. Thank You We are grateful to every participant and advocate who helped make this milestone possible. Your dedication to sharing the survey, uplifting alumni voices, and strengthening the future of our field is what makes this powerful campaign possible. Special thanks to our Founding Supporters, including API Foundation, CEA CAPA Education Abroad, IES Abroad, ISEP Study Abroad, University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC), WorldStrides Higher Ed (WorldStrides), Arizona State University Global Education, CIS Abroad, and Tennessee Consortium for International Studies.
