The Forum on Education Abroad Announces 2025 Forum Fellows

The Forum on Education Abroad is pleased to announce the 2025 Forum Fellows: Hailey Hesseltine, selected for the Forum Fellowship Program with MISTI, and Lishanthi Caldera, recipient of the Sara’s Wish Foundation Fellowship. These fellowships reflect The Forum’s ongoing commitment to supporting professional development and advancing equity, access, and innovation in global learning.

Hailey Hesseltine: 2025 Forum Fellowship Program with MISTI

Hailey Hesseltine, a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at Ordu University, brings a deep commitment to inclusive global learning. With experience in international student services, academic advising, and intercultural programming, Hailey has worked at institutions including the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, Jefferson State Community College, and the University of Texas at Arlington. She also served with the College Advising Corps, supporting first-generation students in Texas.

Hailey holds an M.Ed. in Educational Administration and a B.S. in Psychology. Her work centers on building equitable and accessible pathways to international education. Through this fellowship, she will participate in The Forum’s Professional Certification Accelerated Residency program and complete a full-time internship with MIT’s International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI), gaining practical experience and mentorship. Hailey is passionate about expanding access to international education and plans to draw on her experience with MISTI and as a Certified Professional to promote sustainable, inclusive education abroad opportunities in her future career.

Lishanthi Caldera: 2025 Sara’s Wish Foundation Fellowship

Lishanthi Caldera serves as Safety Abroad Advisor at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she leads risk management and emergency response for international programs. With more than seven years of experience in student mobility, she specializes in optimizing processes and policies that support safety, inclusion, and equitable access to global experiences.

Lishanthi holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Library and Information Science Diploma, along with professional certifications in project management, database administration, and teaching and learning in higher education. As a Sara’s Wish Foundation Fellow, she will complete The Forum’s Professional Certification program and develop health and safety-related content and resources to benefit the wider field of education abroad. Lishanthi is passionate about developing sustainable, scalable, and proactive risk management strategies. After becoming a Certified Professional, she looks forward to being better equipped to strengthen and enhance risk management policies in her current role.

These fellowships are part of The Forum’s commitment to empowering early- and mid-career professionals with the tools and experiences needed to lead in the field of education abroad. We congratulate Hailey and Lishanthi and look forward to their contributions in the year ahead.
