On January 27, 2025, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a directive to federal agencies to temporarily pause funding for certain programs, pending further review. Disruptions may have included federal funding for Title VI programs such as Fulbright-Hays, Centers for International Business Education and Research, and/or Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships, among others.
As the Centering Justice Institute (CJI) approaches, the excitement is building for what promises to be an engaging and impactful experience. This year, the Institute will be held on Tuesday, March 18, in Toronto. This is the first time the event, which is hosted by The Forum on Education Abroad and The Community-Based Global Learning Collaborative, will take place just before The Forum’s in-person Annual Conference.
As we begin the new year, The Forum on Education Abroad celebrates 2024: a year marked by impactful professional development opportunities, global engagement, and meaningful collaborations designed for the field of international educators.
Since the 2020/2021 academic year, Italy has been the leading destination for U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit. Thus, it’s important for these students to feel supported by their host country and for the field of education abroad to understand the impact that international education can have on a country. For these reasons and more, the Association of American College and University Programs in Italy (AACUPI) released its latest Economic Impact Report on November 7, 2024, at John Cabot University in Rome. The 2024 Report builds on a previous study commissioned by AACUPI over a decade ago. |
