Joint Resource with NAFSA: Supporting International Students Returning from Study Abroad

What does an education abroad professional need to know about supporting international students returning to the United States from study abroad? Many universities have dual goals to increase international enrollments as well as expand education abroad. When campuses are successful with both, international students seek education abroad opportunities with a goal of returning to campus to complete their studies.  

In addition to the policies, procedures, and guidelines enumerated in the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad, this joint resource from The Forum on Education Abroad and NAFSA: Association of International Educators provides guiding questions to facilitate collaboration and communication with the International Students and Scholars Services Office (ISSS) for advising international students who are returning from study abroad as a component of their U.S.-based education.
