Faculty engagement is critical to expanding education abroad's reach to include all academic disciplines and engage a greater number and diversity of students in education abroad activities. A prior Forum Council Working Group identified inequities in faculty compensation and rewards systems as a fundamental barrier to sustaining and growing faculty engagement in education abroad.

​Building on those findings, this report presents the work of the Working Group on Advancing Equity in Education Abroad Faculty Compensation and Reward Structures, which investigated practices for faculty engaged in instructor-led or instructor-directed education abroad programs at 52 higher education institutions and 2 education abroad organizations to address persistent barriers to faculty participation.

I. Benchmarking Profiles Data Report​

​This report describes the sample, methods, procedures, and results of the benchmarking process used by our working group. For each institution or organization included, the team created a "benchmarking profile" that captures information on parameters germane for understanding and comparing faculty compensation and reward practices. Collectively, the Benchmarking Profiles represent the group's best effort to gather a cross-sectional sample of institutions and organizations that include faculty-led programs in their education abroad portfolios.​
