Frontiers:  The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad

The official journal of the Forum, Frontiers is the leading academic journal in the education abroad field.  Over 20 colleges and universities sponsor Frontiers and each volume is distributed to over 1,600 subscribers.  As part of their membership benefits, Forum members receive a subscription to Frontiers, which publishes research articles, essays, and reviews of books related to education abroad.  The Forum and Frontiers have collaborated on two special issues:

  • Frontiers Special Issue: Undergraduate Research and Education Abroad, (Volume XIV). The second of a three-volume project highlighting outstanding student research conducted on education abroad programs.  Winners of the Forum’s Undergraduate Research Awards are included in the volume as are perspectives from on-site faculty.  Funded in part by the IFSA Foundation. ($12)
  • A History of US Study Abroad: Beginnings to 1965, by William W. Hoffa.  This work examines the evolution of the field of education abroad, bringing greater meaning to the field through its documentation of its past. ($20)

These two volumes debuted at the Forum Conference in Austin, Texas, March 1 – 3, 2007. Forum members receive a complimentary copy.
