Directions by bus:
Buses will be provided to and from the reception venue from the Columbus Avenue entrance of the Park Plaza Hotel starting at 5:30 pm and running every 30 minutes. If the weather is good, the local arrangements committee encourages you to take public transportation to save gas.
Directions by subway: Exit the Park Plaza Hotel and walk down either Providence Street or St. James towards Berkeley Street. Take a right on Berkeley and you will see the entrance to the Arlington Street MBTA station in front of you (The Arlington Street entrance is closed for renovations). Take the Green Line Outbound towards Boston College (B Line). Get off at the last Boston University stop - BU West (BU has 3 stops – East, Central and West). When you disembark from the T, 808 Commonwealth Avenue is behind you, on the south side of the street. Cross to the opposite side of the tracks, cross the street, and walk one half block to your left. Use your Charlie ticket (see back), or the cost is $2.00 if you purchase a ticket on the T.
Directions by foot:
The walk to the reception is 2.8 miles and will take you about 45 minutes, weather permitting. You can walk Commonwealth Ave all the way to the venue or consider a more scenic walk down Newbury Street. Exit the Park Plaza and head towards Arlington Street. Take a right onto Arlington Street and walk down to the corner of Newbury Street (3 blocks) or continue another 2 blocks down to Commonwealth Avenue. Newbury Street ends on Massachusetts Avenue, so take a right onto Mass Avenue and then a left on Commonwealth Avenue. When you get to Kenmore Square, stay to the far right and continue along Commonwealth Avenue. 808 Commonwealth Avenue on the left (south) side of the street. You come to it immediately after crossing over the Mass Turnpike.
You will receive a complimentary Charlie Ticket with your registration packet. The Charlie Ticket is loaded with $4.00 and will allow you to use public transportation in Boston twice.
The major MBTA subway line (called the “T”) that serves the Park Plaza is the Green Line. The most convenient stop is Arlington Station, but you can easily walk to other MBTA lines from the hotel, depending upon where you would like to go in the city. Most major landmarks are accessible by the T. The closest Orange Line stop is Chinatown, for the Blue Line it is Government Center, and for the Red Line, Park Street. If you are taking the Green Line outbound, please note that there are several lines, and each deviates after the Kenmore station.
